Me’Lajeh attended the Alabama School for Hearing, now known as WISE for two years. At WISE she was in a small group with children who were wearing hearing aids and cochlear implants just like her. The teachers and therapists helped her learn how to make sounds correctly, understand what she was hearing with her cochlear implants, and say words and then sentences.
They made it fun and exciting for her and she loved participating! She loved her friends and teachers and looked forward to going to WISE each day. Me’Lajeh also attended individual therapy sessions at WISE. Those sessions helped me know how to work with her at home.
Me’Lajeh finished at WISE and enrolled in a private kindergarten program. She is doing well and has lots of new friends but will always remember her friends and teachers at WISE.
