Laura was diagnosed with bilateral sensorineural hearing loss at 20 months old. Without the daily instruction of and the wonderful therapists at WISE, Laura would not be where she is today. Everyone at the school was so helpful and accommodating to get Laura the services she needed. We became to think of them as our extended family. Without their help, the trips from Tuscaloosa would have been much harder. Laura was able to begin mainstream kindergarten and now attends a small private school in Tuscaloosa with no services of any type.  She is your typical teenager who enjoys all the same things as her hearing peers. She is an A student, member of the National Honor Society and plays school softball.  People are surprised to learn she has a hearing problem, which gives us the chance to share about WISE.   We are forever grateful to the wonderful people at WISE.
